Josh Pereira, host - Episode 2

Josh Pereira, here! Your host for Survivor: Bush. So let's get right into it... with Episode 2.

We start off with everyone in Tuscarora making some makeshift bedding from green plants they found. With Daniel in Exile, you can tell that Jay is the slightly unspoken leader of the group helping direct the construction. And then... Jackson.

Words cannot express... A combination between Wintergreen and Dill pickle? I can vouch that these plants did not smell that good. They smelled more like Christmas trees than anyting. But, Jackson seemed to like them.

Tuscarora seemed pretty set though at that point to cast their vote towards Jackson or Paige. At the time, the crew really had no clue who would get the boot.

Then we go to Exile. Daniel and Rhino... two rivals from their past season... working together to find the Hidden Immunity Idol. Now, I don't know how hard the clue was to decipher, but I really thought it was fairly obvious. Rhino tricking Daniel into getting the clue has to be one of my favorite moments. What a sneak! Haha. I love it.

However, going against general Survivor rules... Rhino gets back to Adai and tells every member of his tribe the clue. Whether or not that comes back to haunt him, I can't say. But if it were me out there, I dont know if I would confide in the entire tribe the one clue that could end up saving my ass.

I also like to note how Rhino refused to listen to the suggestions that his tribe provided... Even if it wasn't in the barn Tribal Council, he could have at least considered it.

Then we find out that turns out... the all guy alliance is a farce. The viewer misses out that Zac had this thing planned from the first day they got there. I guess it should have been obvious after both Rhino and Michael weren't told that Kay was the target.

It would be sad to see Rhino go so early, because come on it's Rhino, he makes for some great TV. However, in Survivor... you always gotta watch out for those big threats. I love Michael's sensing the danger... but again, Rhino doesn't listen to him. Come on Rhino! You're charging ahead like a.... Rhino...

Looks like the girls really have the power with Zac as their leader. Maury, Maigan and Veronica are really sitting pretty at this point. Challenges may be a bit harder to win... but are the challenges really that complex to begin with?

For Tuscarora, why even talk strategy. Their whole tribe was dead set on Paige from the second they got there. Having Daniel out there, who Paige openly disliked, doesn't help her case.

I also love the scene where Tuscarora struggles to start a fire, and old veteran Daniel comes in to save the day. Jackson's log cabin thing just didn't work out... poor boy.

Challenge time. Balance beam. One of my favorite challenges involve the art of mental blocking. When we got down to Forrest and Jackson, I really thought it was anyone's match. Forrest just didn't move on that board though. Jackson's height may have been his downfall...

After a Jackson freak out, and an Adai celebration, Tuscarora gets to Tribal and votes off their weakest link, Paige.

An interesting scene that didn't make the final episode, is that an hour before that night's Tribal, Brittany suggested that everyone split the votes for Paige so that she didn't feel as bad for receiving everyone's vote. Really Brit? This is Survivor. Everyone but one of the 16 original people will be voted off. As soon as you start thinking with your heart too much, you get cut. Careful over there.

Anyway, Im done rambling for now. Next episode we'll see how the castaways did after their first night in the wilderness and see who gets voted off next... Keep it real!
